Co-extraction Well installat.on Report November4, 1997 <br /> APPENDIX C <br /> Groundwater/Air Co-Extraction Well Installation Procedures <br />' Drilling and construction of groundwater/air co-extraction well(s) will be in conformance <br /> with State Water Resources Control Board standards, and the standards of the California <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Boards The procedures to be used will be as follows <br />' The borehole for each well will be drilled by a drilling company with a current State <br /> Water Well Drillers License (C-57) The drill ng will utilize 12-inch-diameter <br /> hollow-stem augers <br /> • The bottom of each borehole will be dulled to 30 feet below the current ground <br />' surface <br /> • Each well boring will be logged according to the Unified Soil Classification System <br />' All boring logs will be prepared under the supervision of a California state-registered <br /> geologist/engineer Each log will be stamped and signed by the registered <br /> geologist/engineer The logs will be presented as an appendix in the summary report <br /> • The well casing will be 4 %2-inch-diameter PVC, which is either solid or machine <br /> perforated as designed <br />' The slot size based upon aquifer soil examination and purpose of the well will be <br /> 0 020-inch <br />' The annular space around each well casing will be packed with clean graded sand <br /> from the bottom to 2 feet above the top of the perforated casing <br /> • Each well surface seal will be constructed with a rnimmum of 1 foot of bentarute <br />' pellets above the sand pack, followed by cement grout to the surface The minimum <br /> seal length will be two feet <br />' The well heads will be secured in a traffic-rated surface vault <br /> • Well identification information will be affixed to the well cap <br />' • Well construction will be permitted and inspected by the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services, Environmental Health Division <br /> • Drilling equipment will be throughly steam-cleaned with clean water prior to drilling <br /> rOST <br /> coexwell rpt <br />
