Co-extraction Well In,lallat,on Report November4, 1997
•
' 32 Laboratory QA/QC
OST contracted Entech Analytical Labs, Inc (ENTECH) an analytical laboratory certified by
' the State of California Waste Testing Laboratory Certification Program,to perform the specified
tests The methods used by the laboratory are approved analytical methods incorporating
QA/QC practices The laboratory provided the appropriate QA/QC documents which are
' presented with the certified analytical results in Appendix D
' 4.0 PERMITTING
i
A Well Permit for this investigation was obtained from the SJCPHS prior to implementing field
' work A copy of this permit is presented in Appendix E A copy of this permit was kept at the
site during fieldwork
5.0 RESULTS
' The following section presents the analytical results from the soil sampling One soil sample
was collected from each boring
' • 51 Soil Analytical Results
' The 4 soil samples submitted for analyses, were collected from depths of 161/z to 17 feet bgs
Laboratory analyses indicated that MTBE was not detected in any of the samples TPHg and
BTEX were not detected in the samples from borings EW-2 and EW-4 In the samples from
' boring EW-1 and EW-3, low concentrations of TPHg and BTEX were detected The results of
the laboratory analyses of the soil samples are presented in Table 2 Copies of the certified
analytical reports are provided in Appendix D
6.0 CONCLUSIONS
' The following sections present conclusions with respect to soil analytical results and the
observed conditions at the site
6.1 Soil
' Field observations and the results of laboratory analyses indicate that concentrations of gasoline
related compounds appear to be confined to the soil ranging from 5 to 10 feet bgs and from 15
' to 20 feet bgs Laboratory analytical results also indicate that TPHg, BTEX and MTBE were not
detected in the single soil samples collected from EW-2 and EW-4, which are the wells most
' OST
coexwell rpt 4
