The addendum was prepared to address a revised well location for Well MW-3. Inadequate
information is provided in the request to allow staff to determine if the relocation is acceptable.
The groundwater monitoring well installation workplan was described in Engeo Inc.'s 6 December 2004
Work Plan for Groundwater Study, and 11 February 2005 Response to Conditional Work Plan Approval
for Groundwater Study. The Regional Board issued a 1 March 2005 Workplan Addendum letter
approving installation of the wells.
In a 12 May 2005 telephone conversation with Dennis Nakamoto, staff was informed the land
application property boundary presented in previous workplan documents has changed. Please address
the following items:
• Provide an update to the map that shows the proposed land application areas and the groundwater
monitoring wells.
• Provide an explanation of the purpose of the depression location adjacent to the revised proposed
location of Well MW-3. The depression appears to be at least ten feet deep and may be equipped
with a pumping station to discharge stormwater and/or groundwater to some remote location.
Please describe what effect the depression may have on groundwater characterization.
Please submit the information before installing the groundwater monitoring wells. If you have any
questions on this information, please telephone me at(916) 464-4616.
TIMOTHY .
