Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board 6375.4.002.01
Yosemite Avenue Properties January 27,2005
RESPONSE TO CONDITIONAL WORK PLAN APPROVAL Page 2
FOR GROUNDWATER STUDIES
surge blocks to maximize the hydraulic connection between the well and the surrounding aquifer
material. Wells will be purged of a minimum of three casing volumes using a using a 12-volt
pump while monitoring stabilization of groundwater parameters (temperature, pH and electrical
conductivity). Purging will continue during well development until sediments are minimized.
Purge water will be discharged to land onsite.
Soil samples will be collected using a California Split Spoon Sampler containing 2'/z inch-
diameter by 6-inch-long brass tubes. The brass tubes will be sealed using tight-fitting plastic
caps. The soil samples will be on ice in a cooler during transportation using a chain-of custody
record and immediately submitted to the laboratory for analysis.
GROUNDWATER SAMPLING
Sampling procedures and analytical test methods are summarized in the Groundwater Sampling
and Analysis Plan included in Appendix A. The sampling analysis suite has been expanded to
include chloride (instead of chlorine), and total and dissolved magnesium. Electrical
conductivity, boron, sodium, iron, manganese, calcium, and potassium were included in the
original workplan.
If you have any questions on any portion of this work plan, please call and we will be glad to
discuss them with you.
Very truly yours,
ENGEO INCORPORATED Reviewed by:
Christopher A.
