o.. .4
by your property.
2. Remediation has not been accomplished at either site, and .may
not be done for several months or longer.
3. Groundwater flow is north-northeast; any contamination that
may have occurred at your site should have been detected by
existing monitoring wells. This has not happened to date, and is
.not likely to happen in the future..
4: ' The last soil samples taken from the location of the removed
UST did not reveal any contaminants.
5. The latest laboratory analyses for water from MW #14, showed
that all tested substances were below detection levels.
b. The Remediation Plan submitted by GTI states that the limits
of the plume have been defined, which limits are at least 175'
from 260 South Main St.
7. Their is no evidence of any contamination of either soil or
groundwater beneath your property.
RECOMMENDATION:
As a result of this latest review, my original opinion has been
reinforced; namely that there is no evidence of contamination at
your site, no further work is required, and the file should be
closed.
Because the person originally responsible for this project is no
longer with the County, it has been assigned to Margaret Lagorio,
who indicated to me that she was not fully knowledgeable of the
problems associated with it. For that reason, a request for a
meeting with her and her superiors might be advisable. It
appears to me that they will have a difficult time defending
their position based on available evidence. I -would like to hear
what they have to say. .
If they do not have any new information to support their
position, but still insist- on more work, then I would have to
recommend further legal .steps be taken.
Please keep me advised of your decision; you are still under a
mandate to submit a workplan by April 1 for installing a well .
Since I believe such a step is unnecessary, I am not going to
spend any more of my time, (and your money, ) on programs until I
hear differently. I would suggest .that Mr. Ross, you, and I get
3
