Casazza Estate
530 Yale Street
San Francisco, CA 94134
RE: Modesto Dry Ice IN REPLY REFER TO SITE CODE: 2333-1
260 S. Main
Manteca, CA 95336
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed the report submitted by William J.
Hunter and Associates on July 30, 1990. Our office has the
following comments:
A. ) Two (2) monitoring. wells MW.#10 and MW #14 installed. for
Manteca Bean at 229 : Moffat, Manteca are located
downgradient of this site. Contamination was not
detected in the soil samples taken during the boring of
these wells, as .- mentioned in your report. However,
gasoline contamination was found . in the groundwater
sample taken from monitoring well #14 on November 14,
1989 .
Monitoring well#14 is downgradient from the previous
location of the.. 2,000 gallon tank at this site and
upgradient to the previous location of the Manteca Bean
tank.
B. ) The last product stored within the 2, 00b gallon tanks was
diesel but this tank has a history, according . to our
records, of storing regular leaded gasoline.
C. ) Groundwater levels are being recorded at approximately 22
feet below the surface at 229 Moffat Blvd. and it is
i probably accurate to assume as has your consultant,
that
this is the current groundwater level at 260 S. Main
sinc& there is only 260 feet between the two sites. The
water table has dropped drastically the last four years
so seasonal high groundwater-would have been recorded in
1983 and 1986. These figures show groundwater to be at
between 10 feet and 20 feet below surface.
i
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
