e.L71
a
'+ -
--A
Mitigation Work Plan AGS 86102-2P
Beacon Station #3-992, Manteca, California May 2E, 1987
the sand pack. The remaining annulus will be backfilled with
neat cement to grade. The San Joaquin Local Health District will
be notified prior to installation of the san!,tary seal. A
utility box will be set in concrete flush with the surrounding
surface grade. The utility box will have a water-tight seal to .
protect against surface water infiltration and require a
specially designed wrench to open. This will reduce the
possibility of well vandalism or accidental disturbance.
f Field tests will be conducted to evaluate the transmissivity of
the wells with respect to soil vapor. These tests will provide
the data necessary to specify the most appropriate air blower or
vacuum pump system. When the system becomes operational., soil
vapor will be withdrawn from the soil by applying a vacuum to the
appropriate well heads.`. The vapor will .be vented to the
atmosphere, within.guidelines set by the San ,Joaquin Local Health
District's Air Pollution. control District. Total discharge will
be regulated by treatment or by varying the rate of withdrawal oY
daily length of operation. We anticipate that at least two of
the vadose wells will be used as air inlet wells.
j.
f z _
8
