The
site is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of
North Main Street and Alameda Street in Manteca, California, as
depicted on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate P-1) . The approximate
configuration of the station facilities, including three
underground product-storage tanks, is depicted on the Generalized
Site Plan (Plate P-2) .
I Previous work at the site includes an initial Subsurface
1
f Environmental Investigation conducted by Applied GeoSystems (AGS
. .Report No. 86102--1, dated December 16, 1986) in response to a
failed precision leak .test of a 10,000-gallon product-storage
tank. The product-storage tanks were subsequently lined in
place. During the investigation, three 4-inch-diameter ground-
water monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-3) were installed at the
{ site, and selected soil and ground-water samples were collected
! and analyzed for hydrocarbon contaminants. The results of that
investigation indicated that soil in the vicinity of the tank
cavity and ground water underlying the site contained.
concentrations of hydrocarbon contaminants that exceeded levels
s acceptable to state and local regulatory agencies_ Subsequent_-to
- ------- - - --
- -- ;--- ---- --that -investigation,Applied-GeoSystems installed Pour vapor-. - - - -
extraction,wells.
