The SJCPHS position was that no further <br /> action is required at this time. <br /> A tank test was performed on August 11, 1994 at which time Eleanor Ratliff of SJCPHS <br /> _ denoted an unauthorized release of gasoline at the EZ Gas Mini-Mart site. Ms. Ratliff <br /> recommended further investigation to determine the nature and extent of the contamination. <br /> On June 20, 1996, Kleinfelder, Inc., advanced three soil borings (B-13, B-14 and B-15) at <br /> the EZ Gas Mini-Mart site to a depth of 25 feet bgs. Details of the work performed are <br /> discussed in the Limited Subsurface Investigation Highway 120 / McHenry Avenue <br /> Improvement Project Report, Kleinfelder File No. 20-3941-01.E01, dated August 20, 1996. <br /> On February 13, 1997, a Kleinfelder field geologist advanced a single boring at an angle to <br /> a depth of 18.5 feet beneath the "center tank" on the site by means of.hand auger. On <br /> March 18 and 19, 1997, Kleinfelder advanced three soil borings to a depth of 51.5 feet bgs. <br /> Details of the work performed during this investigation are discussed in the Limited Soil <br /> Assessment Arco Gas Mini Mart / EZ Gas Mini Mart 1305 Escalon Avenue / 1405 Main <br /> Street APN 225-100-03 / APN 227-062-04 Report, Kleinfelder File No. 20-3941-0I.E01 <br /> dated April 2, 1997. <br /> On July 23 and 24, 1998, Wright Environmental Services, Inc. (Wright) collected samples <br /> from the tank pits and stockpiled soils from the tank removal work performed at the site. <br /> Additional samples were collected by Wright on August 21 and 26, 1998. <br /> On November 23, 1998, Wright collected soil samples (P-1 through P-6). from various <br /> points along the piping system associated with the distribution of petroleum hydrocarbons at <br /> the former EZ Gas Mini-Mart. <br /> On December 9, 1998, Wright collected additional soil samples from borings (RS-1, RS-2 <br /> r and RS-3) and stockpiled soil at the site. <br /> 2.0 SITE CLOSURE CHECKLIST <br /> LThe following information provides a summary of the corrective action work that have been <br /> performed at the site to date and provides answers to the Appendix B Checklist for Closure. <br /> Estimates are made regarding the fate and transport and the total mass of contaminants <br /> present in the soil and groundwater. <br /> L <br />
