Site Background Information: California Stop
Page 4of7
ranging from 0.28 mg/kg to 3.0 mg/kg. TAME was reported in soil
sample MW3-30 at a concentration of 0.038 mg/kg. Soil samples
MW2-30, MW3-10, and MW3-20 were analyzed for TOC. TOC was
present in samples MW3-10 and MW3-20 at concentrations of
0.20 mg/kg and 0.18 mg/kg, respectively.
21 August One paired soil boring (CPT-1) was advanced on-site for cone
2006 penetration testing to a depth of 100 feet bsg. First-encountered
groundwater was sampled from the initial CPT sounding. Additional
grab groundwater samples and a single soil sample were collected in a
twin boring advanced adjacent to the initial CPT sounding. No
constituents of concern were reported in the CPT-1 soil sample,
collected at 50 feet bsg. Three grab groundwater samples were
collected from boring CPT-1 at depths of 30 feet, 75 feet, and 93 feet
bsg. TPH-g was reported in samples CPT1-30-W and CPT1-93-W at
concentrations of 15,000 pg/I and 320 pg/I, respectively. BTEX
constituents were reported in sample CPT1-30-W at concentrations of
4.1 tag/I of ethylbenzene and 13.7 pg/I of xylenes. MTBE was reported
in all three grab groundwater samples at concentrations of 11,000 tag/I
(CPT1-30-W), 27 tag/I (CPT1-75-W), and 280 pg/I (CPT1-93-W). TBA
and TAME were reported in sample CPT1-30-W at concentrations of
2,100 pg/I and 39 tag/I, respectively.
June 2007 Pilot soil boring MW-4 was advanced to a total depth of 80 feet bsg and
pilot soil borings MW5 through MW8 were advanced to a total depth of
30 feet bsg. Soil boring MW-4 was converted to a 2" diameter well,
screened from 70 to 80 feet, while borings MW-5 through MW-8 were
converted to 2" diameter wells, screened from 10 to 30 feet.
No analytes of concern were reported in soil samples analyzed from
pilot borings MW4, MW6 through MW8.
July 2007 A total of four soil probe borings(B7 through 1310)were advanced at the
site to a total depth of 40 feet for collection of soil and grab groundwater
samples. No analytes at or above laboratory detection limits were
reported in soil or grab groundwater samples collected from B7 through
B10, laterally defining the extent of soil and groundwater impact west of
the dispenser and UST area within the water table and second water-
bearing unit (between 70 and 80 feet bsg).
GROUNDWATER BATCH REMOVALS
In January 2010,five groundwater batch removal events, utilizing on-site wells MW-1, MW-
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
