Main Street in Manteca, California. <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND AND HISTORY <br /> Royal Oak Savings and Loan was the deed holder of this AroCalifornia.1.6acre <br /> proPe <br /> the northeast corner of Alameda and N. Main St. in Manteca, <br /> rLy <br /> is in Federal Receivership under the adirinistration of the Resolution Trust Corpora- <br /> tion. In 1985, the underground tanks from an abandoned filling station were removed, <br /> and San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department determined that a petroleum <br /> release had occurred. <br /> Two site. investigations were undertaken between 1986 and 1990; one by Harding <br /> Lawson &Associates, and another by Oanonie Engineering. <br /> In August of 1990, WHF Environmental Consultants, Inc, submitted a work plan for <br /> the excavation of the contaminated sot,. <br /> The excavation was started on September 20, 1990, and completed e <br /> n October 3, <br /> A total of 4,394 cubic yards was excavated, of which 0aeards ration on site; this was aced. <br /> The 903 yards of contamination were remediated by <br /> com- <br /> pleted on October 3, 1990. <br /> WHF proposed to ,stalled on Novembert12,tton wells on the site.
