. FOURTH QUARTER,2402
GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT
AND ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT REPORT
JAMAR OIL DISTRIBUTION
MARCH 2003
TPH G was detected in both the samples from HP-1 The sample taken from monitoring well
MW-4, located approximately 20-feet southeast of HP-1 reported TPH G at 1,900 gg/l and the
HP-1 sample from 96-feet reported TPH Gat 150 µg/1 TPH G was ND in both the groundwater
samples from both HP-2 and HP-3
Diesel range petroleum hydrocarbons were reported in all six of the geoprobe groundwater
samples All positive detections of TPH-D were reported by the laboratory to "not resemble the
pattern of the requested fuel" The TPH-D concentrations ranged from 110 gg/l in the sample
from HP-2 at 65-feet to 1,400 µg/1 in the sample from MW-4 (HP-1 at 65-feet)
Benzene was reported in the samples from MW-4 (HP-1 at 65-feet) and HP-1 at 96-feet at 2,600
µg/1 and 56 µg/1, respectively Toluene was reported in all of the samples except the one from
HP-2 at 65-feet Toluene levels ranged from 0 96 µg/1 in the sample from HP-3 at 65-feet to 100
µg/1 in the sample from MW-4 (HP-1 at 65-feet) Ethylbenzene was reported in the samples from
MW-4 (HP-1 at 65-feet) and HP-1 at 96-feet at 5 0 gg/l and 6 8 µg/1, respectively Total xylenes
were reported in the samples from MW-4(B?-1 at 65-feet), HP-1 at 96-feet and HP-2 at 100-feet
• at 320 gg/l, 22 3 gg/l, and 1 3 gg/l respectively
I
MTBE was reported in all of the groundwater samples at varying levels MTBE concentrations
ranged from 3 1 gg/l in the sample from HP-3 at 100-feet to 3,900 gg/l in the sample from
MW-4 (HP-1 at 65-feet) The samples from 1HP-2 reported concentrations of 3,200 gg/l in the
sample from 65-feet and 2,500 gg/l 1n the sample from 100-feet In contrast, the 96-foot sample
from HP-1 only reported 41 µg11 and the two samples from 1HP-3 reported concentrations of
7 0 µg/1 and 3 1 µg/1 Figure 9 shows the distribution of MTBE in groundwater based on the
January 2003 geoprobe groundwater samples and the December 2002 fourth quarter monitoring
well samples
TBA was reported in the same three samples that showed the highest MTBE concentrations,
MW-4 (HP-1 at 65-feet), HP-2 at 65-feet, and HP-2 at 100-feet The MW-4 (HP-1 at 65-feet)
sample also reported ETBE, TAME, and 1,2-DCA at 64 gg/l, 42 µg11, and 190 gg/l, respectively
1,2-DCA was also reported from the HP-1 at 96-feet sample and both the HP-2 samples As
previously mentioned, the groundwater analytical data are presented in Table 4 and shown on
Figure 8 The laboratory reports with COC documentation are included in Appendix B
CPT and Geoprobe Investigation Summary and Conclusions
Results from the CPT boring log analysis indicated two separate hydrogeologic units in the CPT-
1B area, one between approximately 61 and 71-feet bgs and one starting at approximately 96-feet
bgs The groundwater analytical data for the corresponding geoprobe(HP-1), also indicated two
distinct hydrogeologic units
10
