ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT WORKPLAN <br /> . JAMAR SERVICE, STOCKTON <br /> APRIL 2002 <br /> Permits and Site Access <br /> GHH will obtain the required boring permits and workplan approval from the County Where <br /> necessary, GHH will secure encroachment permits and right-of-entry agreements for any off-site <br /> investigation activities Encroachment permits will be required from San Joaquin County for the <br /> CPTs to be placed in the sidewalks on the northeast corner and the southeast corner of the East <br /> Main Street and Oro Road intersection <br /> Utility Survey <br /> The Underground Services Alert(USA)network will be contacted at least 48 hours before <br /> drilling operations begin to locate underground utilities on the site and adjacent public right-of- <br /> ways The first 5-feet of each boring will be hand augured as a further precaution to avoid <br /> underground utilities <br /> PROPOSED FIELD ACTIVITIES <br /> Cone Penetrometer Testing <br /> Three CPT borings (CPT-1 through CPT-3)will be advanced vertically to depths of 100 to 150- <br /> feet bgs, utilizing a 25-ton truck-mounted CPT drill rig equipped with 1 5-inch diameter hollow- <br /> stem rods at the locations shown on Figure 4. A hydraulic ram will be used on each CPT boring <br /> to advance a cone penetrometer Tip resistance, sleeve friction„ friction ratio (ratio between <br /> sleeve friction and tip resistance) and pore water pressure will be continuously measured as the <br /> cone penetrometer is advanced to depth. A continuous boring log will be generated utilizing the <br /> CPT computer program The computer program will generate a general Iithology type and <br /> display on a CPT boring log <br /> Following evaluation of the CPT log and selecting intervals that indicate favorable conditions for <br /> collecting groundwater samples, a twinned boring will be drilled for collecting grab soil and <br /> groundwater samples <br /> Groundwater Sampling <br /> Following advancement of an initial boring to collect lithologic data(CPT borings),the CPT ng <br /> equipped with a hydropunch groundwater sampling tool will be used to collect groundwater grab <br /> samples from specified depths of a twin soil boring(EP borings) <br /> 5 <br />
