. SECOND QUARTER,2002
GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT
JAMAR OIL DISTRIBUTION
AUGUST 2002
TPH D was detected in wells MW-1 through MW-4 this quarter at concentrations ranging from
2,340µg/1 in the sample from MW-3,to 541 µg11 in the sample from MVV-2
Benzene was detected in samples from all wells at concentrations ranging from ranging from
35,000µg/l, in the sample from MW-1,to 9.90µg/1 in the sample from MW-5 Toluene was
detected in samples collected from MW-1 through MW-5 at 1,900µg1l, 180µg11, 1,400µg11, 670
µg/1 and 3.3 µg/1, respectively Ethylbenzene was detected in the samples collected from MW-1,
MW-3, and MW-5 at 1,200µg11, 450µg/l, and 0 530µg/l,respectively Total xylenes were
detected in samples collected from MW-1 through MVV-5 at 2,600µg11, 110µg/1, 2,100µg11,
2,200 jig/]and 2 90µg11,respectively.
MTBE was detected in samples from MW-1 through MW-5 at 210,000µg/l, 420µg/1, 55µg11,
4,400µg/l,and 15µg/1,respectively Ternary butyl alcohol(TBA)was detected in the sample
collected from MW-1,MW-4, and MW-5 at 43,000µg11, 1,000µg/l,and 62µg11,respectively
1,2-DCA,DIPE,ETBE,TAME, and EDB were non-detect in all samples taken this quarter
Groundwater analytical data are summarized in Table 2 and shown on Figure 5 Copies of the
laboratory reports with COC documentation are included in Appendix B
CONCLUSIONS
Generally, the petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations and MTBE have remained relatively
consistent over the last two years However, the extent of impacted groundwater remains
undefined at the site 1,2 DCA was not detected this quarter in the sample from MW-1 The
previous quarter detection of 1,2-DCA in MW-1 appears to be an anomalous event TBA
continued to be detected in samples from MW-5 and for the first time in MW-1
SCHEDULE
The next quarterly monitoring event is scheduled for September 2002. The Third Quarter
Monitoring Report will be submitted on October 31,2002.
GHH is currently awaiting preapproval from the UST Cleanup Fund prior to proceeding with
additional subsurface investigation work at the site.
