' The initial round of sampling, March 3, 1987, showed benzene concentrations of 3.5 ug/l
(ppb) in MW-1 and 13 ug/l (ppb) in MW-2. BTEX constituents were not detected in
samples collected from MW-3, and TPH was not detected in samples from all three wells
Analytical results of ground water samples collected April 28, 1988 indicated BTEX and
TPH constituents were not present in the wells.
Conclusions
Based on the analytical results from the two consecutive rounds of water samples collected
after March 1987, ground water contamination no longer appears to be present at this
location. It is our judgment that removal of the old underground tanks and soil
remediation at this site have removed the probable source for ground water contamination
It is Kleinfelder's recommendation that no further remedial action or sampling be required
at the site. These assertions are based on the three rounds of ground water sampling at this
site.
Should a greater degree of certainty be required by the client, Kleinfelder should be
notified for additional ground water sampling and consultation. This report has been
prepared in general accordance with the accepted standard of care which exist in Northern
California at the time the sampling was performed it should be recognized that definition
and evaluation of hydrogeologic conditions is a difficult and inexact art Judgments leading
to conclusions and recommendations are generally made with an incomplete knowledge of
the subsurface conditions present More extensive studies including additional subsurface
investigation may reduce the inherent uncertainties associated with subsurface modeling.
• Very truly yours,
KLEINFELDER
Eric S.
