Project 113-13
July 28, 1994
Page 3 I
six well volumes per well All purge water was placed in a sealed metal 55-gallon
drum (DOT 171-1). After each well was purged, a sample was taken using a teflon
bailer. The water from each well was placed in two 40-milliliter vials filled so that
there was no air (head space) remaining in them Samples were labeled and placed
on ice in a cooler for transport to a state certified hazardous materials testing
laboratory, McCampbell Analytical of Pacheco, California The pump and electronic
water level meter were cleaned in one bucket with TSP (trisodium phosphate) and
two separate buckets with tap water after being used for each well The bailer was
cleaned in the TSP solution, rinsed two times in tap water, and rinsed with de-
ionized water between each use. All purge water and equipment wash water was
placed in 55-gallon steel drums and remains on-site When the drums are full,
disposal options will be determined and documented in future reports Copies of the
Water Sample Data Forms are attached to this report
The samples were analyzed for TPH-gasoline and BTEX using EPA Methods
5030/8015 modified, and 602 A copy of the laboratory report and Chain of Custody
form are attached to this report
Table 2
Cheaper' #76, 890 North Main Street, Manteca, California
Groundwater Sample Analysis Results'
Samples Collected on July 8, 1994
Sample # TPH-g Benzene Toluene Ethylbenzene Xylenes
MW-1 ND < 50 ND <05 ND <0 5 ND <0 5 ND <0 5
MW-2 ND < 50 ND <05 ND <0 5 ND <0 5 ND <05
MW-3 ND < 50 ND <0 5 ND <05 ND <0 5 ND <0 5
MW-4 ND < 50 ND <0 5 ND <0 5 ND <0 5 ND <0 5
Sample results are in µg 'L or parts per billion
The sample analyses show that total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline, benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes were not detected in groundwater at the well
locations (Figure 3 - Hydrocarbon Concentrations)
III, Future Directions
This is the fifth consecutive quarter in which all wells were ND for TPH-g and
BTEX.
