Project 113-13
July 31, 1995
Page 3
Shallow groundwater measurements indicate the water levels were approximately 4
foot lower than measurements taken in April 1995 after rising about 4 feet since last
summer. The groundwater flow direction was S570W, with a gradient of 0 008 (8
feet / 1,000 feet), as shown in Figure 2, the Groundwater Elevation Map
Groundwater elevations over the Iast year are shown in Chart 1.
Chart 1 Groundwater Elevations, MSL
14 Cheaper' #76
120 MW-1
® MW-2
10
in MW-3
8 `
® MW-4
6--
40 4--
0
July 94 January 95 Apn! 95 July 95
Each monitoring well was purged using a submersible electric pump prior to
sampling. About 12 gallons were removed from each well, at least five well
volumes per well After each well was purged, a sample was taken using the pump.
The water from each well was placed in two 40-milliliter vials filled so that there
was no air (head space) remaining in them. Samples were labeled and placed
on ice in a cooler for transport to a state certified hazardous matenals testing
laboratory, McCampbelI Analytical of Pacheco, California
The pump and electronic water level meter were cleaned 1n one bucket with TSP
(trisodium phosphate) and two separate buckets with tap water after being used for
each well. All purge water and equipment wash water was placed in 55-gallon steel
drums and remains on-site. Copies of the Water Sample Data Forms are attached to
this report.
The samples were analyzed for TPH-gasoline and BTEX using EPA Methods
5030/8015 modified, and 602 The wells analyzed ND for the chemicals of interest
(see Figure 3 - Hydrocarbon Concentration Map).
