The purpose of the work was to abandon nine (9) <br /> groundwater-monitoring wells as part of the site closure. ` <br /> On :Mach 27 '1998; a total of nine-{9)_ groundwater-monitoring wells were abandoned at the 1 <br /> EBMUD facility in Stockton, California. The abandonments were performed by Gregg Drilling,& <br /> Testing of Martinez-, California (57 Lic. # 4851'65), under the-supervision of Dove=Engineering <br /> Group,inc.;(DEGIJ. The work was.perfor ned under San;Joaquin County permit#015152-and the <br /> procedures were-consistent with guidelines inthe State-of California DWR Bulletin 74-90 and San. <br /> Joaquin-County permitting.requirernents. <br /> 'DELI: abandoned seven (7)-2" and two (2) 4" monitoring wells (MW-1; through MVIf-9) at the <br /> EBMUD Brentwoodsite. The wells;ranged in-depth from 20:5 to 24:5-ft bgs. During-drilling DELI <br /> encountered groundwater at.-one (1`) ft_bgs. The monitoring--wells were checked for bridges and <br /> foreign material with a weighted tape. No obstructions were--detected by using this method. The <br /> ;sealing materials were applied.at a continuous rate until grout flowed from the surface. Grout was <br /> pumped under pressure in-each well until the pressure reached 30-35 psig. The-pressure was <br /> in for roximatel -1-ft.b s and allowed to set. <br /> The remainder:of each monitoring well <br /> marinta ed Y 9 <br /> _ _ pp <br /> -was filled with clean soil. The---San: Joaquin County Office was notified-,so that a county. <br /> .representative could witness the well abandonment procedures.
