fl <br /> UNOCAL <br /> UNOCAL STATION#5886 h, <br /> PAGE 2 <br /> In accordance with Title 23, Division 3, Chapter 16, California Code of Regulations and Chapter 6.7, <br /> Health and Safety Code,and specifically;in order to eliminate further potential ground water degradation <br /> the responsible party shall immediately investigate and abate any and all potential, suspected or known <br /> discharges of hazardous substances including petroleum hydrocarbons to the environment at the site <br /> referenced above. The.responsible party shall also immediately submit in written format a work plan <br /> If <br /> which when implemented will fully define the vertical and lateral extent of soil and groundwater <br /> contaminant distribution. As a result of the current and relative absence of Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl- <br /> Benzene, and Xylenes in ground waterat this site, the work plan shall focus on the distribution and <br /> migration of MTBE and,any other oxygenates or supplements known or suspected by the responsible party <br /> to exist in fuel mixtures received, stored, or dispensed at this site. The responsible party at the above <br /> referenced site shall perform all site specific field work under the direct supervision and approval of <br /> PHS/EHD including theinvestigation and evaluation of UST system appurtenances. The responsible party <br /> shall in advance obtain all necessary permits prior to performing any work at this site. <br /> kf <br /> PHS/EHD directs you as responsible party to comply with the above abatement directive and P' <br /> submittal of a written work plan for review no later than March 28, 1997.
