FAX:916/638-8385
November 22, 1995
Mr. Ron Rowe
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
304 East Weber
Stockton, California 95201
Subject: Well Box Locations
Unocal Service Station No. 5886
2701 W. March Lane
Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Rowe:
At the request of Unocal, Delta Environmental Consultants (Delta) is providing San Joaquin County
Public Health Services Environmental Health Division(SJCPHSEHD)a site map showing the locations
of two proposed well boxes to be installed at the site. These well boxes will be installed prior to
asphalting the site to minimize disruption of services and damage to the newly capped surface. Also
attached, are three figures showing the analytical results (total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline and
diesel and benzene)for ground water samples collected from the Geoprobe borings installed at the site.
An additional well is proposed south of GP-21 in the driveway. This location, however is not scheduled
to be resurfaced and does not require a well box at this time.
Delta has proposed to install 24-inch square boxes to allow the future installation of ground water
monitoring wells following the resurfacing of the site. The well box locations are based on the
Geoprobe ground water sample results, the inferred direction of ground water flow at the site,
(northeast) and site conditions (dispenser canopy and underground storage tanks).
It is Delta's understanding that Unocal's subcontractor has scheduled the resurfacing for December 4,
1995 and final grading for November 29 and 30, 1995. In order to meet these deadlines, Delta would
like to deliver and install the well boxes on November 28 or 29, 1995 following concurrence of the
locations with SJCPHSEHD.
If you have any questions regarding the proposed work or schedule, please call me at (916) 638-2085.
Sincerely,
DELTA ENVIRONM%IENTAL_90NSULTANTS9 INC.
Eric J.
