These screened intervals will be near the interface of the vadose zone and upper water-bearing zone and the base of the wells. Based on the previous borings logs, ERI expects one- continuous water-bearings zone. The proposed well construction details are attached. Each casing with the borehole will be developed and groundwater samples collected in accordance with the previously outlined protocol. Analyses of groundwater samples collected from each casing will allow evaluation of the vertical extent of MTBE in groundwater. To address and disclose the chemicals utilized on site, ERI has attached the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for the fuel products utilized by 76 Products Company. ERI is prepared to implement the work plan within 2 weeks upon regulatory approval and obtaining appropriate permits. In accordance with your letter, ERI will submit the boring application and appropriate fee for approval prior to initiating field work. ERI will notify personnel of the San Joaquin County PHS/EHD to provide the opportunity to witness field work at least 48 hours in advance. 76 Products Company and San Joaquin County PHS/EHD will be notified should any delays occur. The work will be completed in accordance wit the procedures outlined in ERI'S Work Plan for Supplemental Environmental Investigation (dated March 28, 1997).
