• ERI 205513 QS5 Tosco 76 Service Station 5886 Stockton California July 30, 1998 • TPPHg, benzene, and TEPHd were not detected above laboratory method detection limits in groundwater samples collected from the groundwater monitoring wells except for 0 85 ug/L benzene detected In the groundwater sample collected from monitoring well MW4D • MTBE was not detected above laboratory method detection limits in monitoring wells MW1, MWSD, MWSS, MW7D, and MW7S MTBE was detected in the remaining groundwater monitoring wells ranging from 3 3 ugIL to 7,300 ug/L • Tosco has successfully obtained access agreements from several owners of properties directly across March Lane (south and southwest) However, Tosco has been unsuccessful in It's attempts to obtain an access agreement with the owner of the property adjacent to the western Tosco property boundary to allow off-site use of a cone penetrometer (CP) The following work is being performed • Tosco is currently awaiting approval from SJCPHS/EHD of the proposed CP locations • • Tosco will continue quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling at the subject site • ERI and Tosco will continue to conduct a further comprehensive review of the data acquired during previous work and present Quarterly Reports to SJCPHS/EHD which describe the status of the proposed work by the dates established by SJCPHS/EHD Additionally, Tosco will formally request that SJCPHS/EHD assist Tosco in obtaining an access agreement with Thompson, Partners Limited, the property owners of 2727 March Lane (IN-OUT BURGER), Stockton, California to facilitate implementation of the off-site CP investigation The Thompson, Partners Limited office is located at 1919 Grand Canal Boulevard, #B-5, Stockton, CA 95207 The ongoing work will be completed in accordance with the procedures outlined in ERI'S Work Plan for Supplemental Environmental Investigation (dated July 14, 1997) and Addendum to Work Plan (dated August 8, 1997) ERI will submit a comprehensive Soil and Water Investigation Report within 45 days following completion of the field work including Installation of monitoring wells • ERI recommends signed copies of this summary report be forwarded to the following Mr Ronald Rowe, Sr Site Mitigation Unit San Joaquin County Public Health Services 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor Stockton, California 95202 • • 4 •
