Contact the PM and RSC for <br /> further instructions to proceed. <br /> CGI Explosive < 10%LEL Level D. <br /> Atmosphere <br /> > 10 %LEL Immediate Withdrawal. Explosive hazard. Contact the <br /> SSHO and RSC for further instructions. <br /> Immediate Withdraw. Combustible gas readings are <br /> Oxygen Conc. Oz Conc. < 19.5 % <br /> not accurate below this concentration! Notify SSHO. <br /> Meter <br /> 19.5 %to 23.5% Level D. Check for airborne contaminants. Continue <br /> investigation with caution. <br /> >23.5 % Immediate withdrawal. Fire hazard potential. Notify <br /> the SSHO and/or the RSC. <br /> Aerosol Meter Airborne <3 mg/m3 Level D. Additional air monitoring may be required for <br /> Particulates specific particular contaminants! <br /> 3 mg/m3 to Level C. Use dust suppression techniques in dust- <br /> 10 rag/m3 generating areas. <br /> > 10 mg/m3 Level C. Possible explosion hazard for organic dusts. <br /> Use dust suppression techniques. <br /> Any upgrading to higher levels of protection may require additional personal sampling using National <br /> Institute for Occupational Safety and Health(NIOSH)or Occupational Safety and Health Administration <br /> (OSHA)methods for the collection and analysis of airborne contaminants. <br /> Air monitoring equipment used on the Site should be calibrated with the following: <br /> Calibration/Response Check <br /> Types Frequency Gas Standard <br /> PID Daily 100 ppm isobutylene in air <br /> CGI Daily Pentane/Methane <br /> Universal Test Pump-Sensidyne Daily Leak Test:Insert unbroken detector tube <br /> (refer to mfg. for other pumps) into orifice,pull and lock handle in <br /> sampling position,wait 15-30 sec. Slowly <br /> and carefully release the handle. If handle <br /> does not return to 1/8",pump leaks. <br /> Field personnel,in conjunction with the Site Supervisor and SSHO,may choose to allow ventilation of <br /> vapors before resuming work(rather than using higher levels of PPE).
