1 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> USA Petroleum Corporation (USA) has retained Park Environmental Corporation (Park) to <br /> represent USA in matters pertaining to environmental issues at its facility located at 2132 <br /> ' Manposa Road, in Stockton, California (Figure 1 of Appendix A). Mr Charles Nichols of USA <br /> has authorized Park to prepare this report for assessment of soil and groundwater at the subject <br /> site <br /> ' San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) had <br /> requested that three new groundwater monitoring wells be installed at the subject site to replace <br /> ' the three shallow monitoring wells that are now dry due to the declining water table in the area <br /> The PHS/EHD references this site with site Code No 1669 <br /> 2.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> 2.1 Purpose <br /> The purpose of the investigation conducted by Park and described in this report included the <br /> following <br /> • To replace existing groundwater monitoring wells that are too <br /> shallow to reach current groundwater levels, <br /> • To begin quarterly groundwater monitoring, <br /> 1 • To assess the groundwater flow direction and hydraulic gradient, <br /> ' • To evaluate potential sources of on-site or off-site releases, and <br /> ' • To develop a remedial strategy, if appropriate. <br /> 2.2 Scope of Work <br /> The scope of work performed by Park included the following <br /> ' • Develop a site-specific Site Safety Plan, <br /> I <br /> • Obtain all required permits to drill and install the groundwater <br /> monitoring wells; <br /> • Drill and install three replacement groundwater monitoring wells <br /> to depths of 90 feet below the ground surface (bgs), <br /> B 1 iasrn RFr l <br />
