HAZELTON AVENUE <br />STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 95201 <br />(209) 468-3000 FAX (209) 468-2999 <br />www.sjgov.orglpubworks <br />SUBJECT: STATEMENT OF CORRECTIVE ACTION —SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br />HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE CONSOLIDATION FACILITY <br />Dear Mr. Naidu: <br />The following corrective actions have been taken to address the violations specified in the <br />Inspection Report dated May 16, 2008 for the San Joaquin County HHW Facility: <br />#62, HW Tank Assessment Not Sufficient: Following the preliminary assessments for both the <br />Waste Oil and Waste Antifreeze tanks, the engineer noted several costly repairs that were <br />necessary before the tanks could receive their Title 22 certifications. <br />With the help of Bagley Equipment Company, both the Waste Oil and Waste Antifreeze tanks <br />were repaired in accordance with the engineer's preliminary report: installed secondary <br />containment for collection trough and pipe, transfer pump and transfer line; seismic anchoring; <br />checked and calibrated the overfill protection devices; and the tanks have both been grounded. <br />Enclosed, please find the Title 22 Inspection Report for the Hazardous Waste Oil and Waste <br />Antifreeze tanks, complete with the certifying statements from Strandberg Associates for each <br />tank, indicating both tanks are now of sufficient capacity and condition. <br />If you have any questions, please call me at 468-3066. <br />Sincerely, <br />KIMBRA ANDREWS <br />Management Analyst <br />KA:sc <br />P:\HHW\HHW Facilities\PHHWCF\operations\CUPA\Title22 Tank Certs rtc.doc <br />Enclosure <br />
