PROJECT MANAGER Employee: <br />141 . ' 6PU. : 91Yi7T.`l <br />Responsible for the complete operations of the program, including but not limited to <br />personnel, staffing, training, and onsite technical oversight. The Project Manager will <br />also ensure that the HHW staff are familiar with and follow the established operating <br />procedures, segregation procedures for classifying hazardous wastes, containerization <br />methodologies for disposal options (Recycling, Incineration, Treatment, Landfill), Injury <br />and Illness Prevention Program, Spill Response Protocols, and Contingency Plans and <br />implementation. <br />Other job duties will include: maintain and generate all necessary paperwork, records for <br />the storage, packaging, shipping, and transporting of hazardous waste, and <br />communication with County personnel and Stericycle management on operational issues <br />as necessary. <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />1. BS in Chemistry or science related field or equivalent job experience. <br />2. Basic knowledge of 49 CFR, 40 CFR, 29 CFR and California Title 22 regulations as <br />applicable to Household Hazardous Waste. <br />3. Requires ability to direct and supervise on-site staff. <br />4. The position requires ability to accurately prepare Hazardous Waste Shipping papers per <br />DOT requirements. <br />5. Requires ability to operate a personal computer using spreadsheets, word processing and <br />data based programs. <br />TRAINING <br />• 40 -hour training course (with 8 -hour annual refresher) in Hazardous Waste Operations <br />and Emergency Response as prescribed by the Occupational Health and Safety <br />Administration in 29 CFR 1910.120. <br />• Job specific training specified by the Occupational Safety and Health Standards of Title <br />29 (Annual refresher or as necessary to accommodate job duties) <br />• Procedures for the proper handling and Transportation of Hazardous Material Training and <br />Universal Waste in accordance with DOT HM 181 and 215a (bi-annual refresher) <br />• Respirator Protection and Personal Protective Equipment Training in accordance with <br />29 CFR 1910, Subparts 1 and 2 (annual refresher) <br />
