• TECHNICIAN Employee: <br />• RESPONSIBILITIES <br />• Hazardous Materials Technicians ensure that hazardous materials are properly segregated <br />for packaging, transport, and disposal. The duties include site set-up, greeting customers, <br />completing surveys, managing re -use, unloading vehicles, bulking flammable liquids and <br />latex paint, operating equipment, documenting vehicles with suspect loads or excessively <br />large loads, and other duties as required under supervision of Project Manager and/or Lead <br />Technician. <br />• Is Responsible to know and follow the Injury and Illness Prevention Program, Spill <br />Response Protocols, Contingency Plans and implementation as spelled out in the written <br />Health and Safety Plan located on site and will be reviewed occasionally during safety <br />briefings as needed. <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />1. High School diploma or equivalent. <br />2. Ability to read and understand English language. <br />3. Ability to work as a member of a team. <br />4. Operate equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, paint crusher and drum dolly. <br />TRAINING <br />• 40 -hour training course (with 8 -hour annual refresher) in Hazardous Waste Operations <br />and Emergency Response as prescribed by the Occupational Health and Safety <br />Administration in 29 CFR 1910.120. <br />• Job specific training specified by the Occupational Safety and Health Standards of Title <br />29 (as necessary to accommodate job duties) <br />• Procedures for the proper handling and Transportation of Hazardous Material Training and <br />Universal Waste in accordance with DOT HM 181 and 215a (bi-annual refresher) <br />• Respirator Protection and Personal Protective Equipment Training in accordance with <br />29 CFR 1910, Subparts 1 and 2 (annual refresher) <br />• Forklift Certification <br />
