Lamps/ CFL's Procedural Change
704 Lamps
RECEIVED
SEP 0 4 2015
In order to prevent breakage of CFL's while being deposited into storage and shipment
containers we have implemented the following changes: ENVIRONMENTAL
JCp,TU nCOAOTOACM
1) We have reduced the size of the storage container from a 48" high cylinder to a much
more manageable 34" high cylinder. This will make placing the CFL's into the container
easy and much safer than dropping them into the taller container. All personnel will tilt
the cylinder when empty, if necessary, making sure that the bulbs are placed and not
dropped into the container. Please see attached photos.
2) As an additional safeguard, we will us a shock absorbing material at the bottom of the
empty cylinders with a thickness of not less than 6". Shock absorbing material will
consist of reusable shrink wrap, paper or paper bags (crumpled up), Styrofoam peanuts
or any other reusable material capable of providing sufficient buffering to prevent
breakage.
3) All personnel on site have been trained on proper packaging techniques of Lamps/CFL's
to prevent breakage.
4) All personnel on site have been trained on proper removal and packaging techniques of
broken lamps/CFL's.
