Class B- fires involving flammable liquids, gasses, and greases <br />Class C -fires involving live electrical equipment. <br />Class D- metal fires such as cadmium, lithium and nickel. <br />ii. Extinguish the fire <br />iii. After the fire is extinguished, step back and watch for possible re - <br />ignition. <br />iv. Secure the area so the fire won't start again. <br />4. Call 911 if on site personnel can not control the situation. <br />5. Notify the appropriate agencies of the incident. Agency phone numbers are <br />provided in Section F. <br />6. Verify that all staff and general public have evacuated. If employees are still in <br />the building, the Emergency Coordinator will arrange for search and rescue by <br />notifying the appropriate authorities. <br />7. Maintain a command post separate from the incident. <br />8. The Emergency Coordinator may determine the magnitude of the incident based <br />on the following information: <br />a. Nature and characteristics of the fire spill or release <br />b. Location and extent of incident <br />c. Quantity spilled or released/ magnitude of fire or explosion <br />d. Direction in which the spill or release is migrating <br />e. Extent of physical injury to personnel <br />f. Fire and/or explosion potential of the event <br />2. The Alternate Emergency Coordinator will: <br />1. Forward phones to the answering service and instruct the service of the <br />emergency number to forward all emergency calls (see Section F) <br />2. Retrieve a copy of this plan, writing pen and paper, current Emergency Contact <br />List for all PSC employees, and a head count list. <br />3. Ensure all persons are evacuated from the building and/or affected area. <br />4. Conduct or assign employee to conduct a head count at the assembly point after <br />an evacuation to ensure that all employees have safely evacuated and ascertain <br />that no injured employees are still in the building. <br />5. The result of the head count will be communicated directly to the Emergency <br />Coordinator. <br />6. Alternate EC will ensure that employees remain at the assembly point until <br />authorities arrive and personnel have been instructed to leave. <br />7. Provide the Emergency Coordinator with further evaluation of the magnitude and <br />severity of the incident. <br />8. Oversee emergency response personnel at or near the scene of the incident. <br />9. Oversee the necessary defensive measures to stop or contain the spill or fire. <br />10. Oversee clean-up. <br />C.
