Ground Zero Analysis, Ina
SITE SAFETY PLAN
FACILITY BACKGROUND
The site is currently operated as an automotive service center. The facility previously utilized two
1000-gallon UST's for storage of gasoline and one 350 gallon UST for the storage of waste oil.
The two gasoline UST's, and one waste oil UST were removed under permit from PHS/EHD on
December 18, 1998 and May 11 1999, respectively. Soil samples collected beneath the tanks and
associated piping contained petroleum hydrocarbons at levels exceeding the respective laboratory
detection limits.
WORK PLAN
Task One: Advance up to One (1) angle and four (4) vertical soil borings using a truck mounted
Geoprobe 5400 direct push drilling rig to a depth of approximately 35-40 feet below ground surface
(bgs). The locations will be in the vicinity of the former UST to determine current concentrations of
residual soil contamination resulting from past site operations
Task Two: Collect soil samples from each boring at 5-foot intervals (vertical borings) and at 15,
20,and 25 feet(angle boring)for logging and submittal to a state-certified laboratory for analysis.
JOB HAZARD ANALYSIS AND SUMMARY
Chemical Hazards
TASK(S) CHEMICAL PEUSTEUIDLH KNOWN SIGNS/SYMPTOMS
(SOIL; WATER; AIR, ': CONCENTRATIO,
ETC.)
