1
Kennedy,Jenks Consultants
' 5 RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon field observations and geophysical surveys, the two American Street USTs,
the Cunningham Hotel UST and the sumps at the Stantslaus Repair Facility and the
' Cunningham Repair Facility are still present at the property We recommend that these
USTs, sumps and any associated piping and equipment be removed in accordance with
applicable regulations and requirements Although the analytical results of soil samples
' collected in the vicinity of the USTs and sumps did not indicate significant impacts of
chemicals of concern, localized impacts may be encountered during removal of these
USTs and sumps, and may require action by the regulatory agency Therefore, we
' recommend Stockton Newspaper require that the UST owner/operator(s) be responsible
for their removal and any associated investigation and remediation
The USTs and dispenser located at the Stantslaus Repair Facility were removed and the
Agency determined in 1993 that no further action was required However, greater than
300 mg/kg of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil were left in place, and the groundwater
' samples collected from Bonngs SB-9 and SB-10, installed as part of the Phase II
investigation conducted by Kennedy/Jenks, contained TPH as diesel These recent
groundwater results may cause the Agency to require additional investigation of this area
Therefore, we recommend that Stockton Newspaper request the owner/operator of the
' former Stanislaus Repair Facility be responsible for satisfying future Agency requirements
for this issue
'r
r
' i yab1961 M70 00 phase iateAdoc 1
