1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Conestoga-Rovers & Associates (CRA) prepared this report on behalf of Equilon <br /> Enterprises LLC dba Shell Oil Products US (Shell) in response to a November 5,2010 <br /> letter from the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) <br /> requesting that a no further action request be submitted for the Former Shell Central <br /> Valley Pipelines, Neighborhoods B,C, and D (site) (Appendix A). <br /> The site is located on the northwest corner (Neighborhoods C and D) and the southwest <br /> corner (Neighborhood B) of the intersection of Mountain House Parkway and Grant <br /> Line Road, in Mountain House, northwest of Tracy, California (Figures 1 and 2). Shell <br /> formerly operated two 8-inch diameter, crude oil transport pipelines which trended <br /> generally northwest to southeast across the site. The site lies within Neighborhoods B,C <br /> and D of the proposed Mountain House Development. A portion of the site in <br /> Neighborhood B has been used as a dairy. Residential development is proposed in <br /> Neighborhoods C and D and the western portion Neighborhood B, and industrial and <br /> commercial development is planned for the eastern portion of Neighborhood B. <br /> A summary of previous work performed at the site and additional background <br /> information is contained in Appendix B. <br /> 2.0 CLOSURE SUMMARY <br /> 2.1 GEOLOGIC AND HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> 2.1.1 GEOGRAPHY <br /> The site is located approximately 4 miles northwest of the City of Tracy at an elevation <br /> of approximately 100 feet above mean sea level. Topography at the site is relatively flat <br /> (Figure 1). The nearest surface water body to the site is Delta-Mendota Canal, located <br /> approximately 1 mile to the southwest. <br /> 2.1.2 SOIL TYPES <br /> Soil types encountered during drilling activities consist primarily of silts and sands,with <br /> some gravel, to the total depth explored of approximately 40 feet below grade (fbg). <br /> Available boring logs and well construction diagrams are included in Appendix C. <br /> 060222(11) 1 CiONESTOGA-ROVERS&ASSOCIATES <br />
