The results
of this record review are discussed in the following paragraphs.
The San Joaquin County, Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division was contacted for information regarding hazardous waste generation,
W hazardous materials storage, USTs, hazardous waste spills, and investigated
complaints for the property. According to their review, the Tiki Lagun Resort
& Marina was assigned to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division's(PHS/EHD)Local UST Oversight Program for
oversight of assessment and cleanup activities at contaminated underground tank
sites. The assignment was based on the removal of a 2,000 gallon diesel tank
on December 16, 1993. According to the San Joaquin County Tank Removal
Inspection Report, odors, and ground water were not encountered during the
excavation and tank removal. Some rust on the tank was observed, however no
holes were observed in the tank. During the excavation two soil samples were
collected and analyzed for lead, ethylene dibromide, and volatile hydrocarbons
as gasoline, with benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene. Analytical results
from McCampbell Analytical Inc. of Pacheco showed lead at levels of 10 and
5.2 mg/kg in sample TI-B and TI-S respectively, and levels of total petroleum
hydrocarbons(TPH)-gasoline(6.7 mg/kg),Benzene(0.34 mg/kg),toluene(0.50
mg/kg),ethylbenzene(0.090 mg/kg),and xylenes(0.11 mg/kg),in sample T1-B;
` all other analysis were non detect. On September 26, 1995, Blasland,Bouck&
Lee (BBL) conducted an over excavation and sampling of the tank area and
collected eight soil samples which were analyzed for BTEX. The results of this
excavation sampling and subsequent analysis are in section 7.
In May 1995, the PHS/EHD issued a Compliance Order to correct the surface
water system at the Tiki Lagun & Marina. The water system is in the process
of being converted to a ground water system in compliance with the order. A
potable water well has been drilled and is currently in the process of being tested
._ to meet standards.
In 1989, the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District issued a Notice
to Comply to Tiki Lagun Resort& Marina requiring an application for permit
to be submitted. The application was subsequently submitted, a permit was
issued, and the Tiki Lagun Resort&Marina has been in compliance ever since.
W
BLASLAND,BOUCK&LEE,INC.
NEWfiKI.WPD--517/96 engineers & scientists 3-S
L
