1
P A GE 2 J
MATRIX SPIKE EVALUATION
The matrix spike (MS)/matrix spike duplicate (MSD) recoveries were
within the laboratory's limits of acceptance with the exception of the MSD
in sample SB-3-1.0 for 1,1-dichloroethene and benzene. However, the MS
was in.control,.so no data required qualification. The MSD results that
did not meet control criteria are presented in Table 2.
SURROGATE SPIN EVALUATION _
The surrogate recoveries were.within acceptable limits. No qualifications
to the data were made on the basis of surrogate spikes. The surrogate
recoveries indicate minimal matrix interference in the samples.
T'PH EVALUATION
The laboratory noted that the sample chromatograms for the total
petroleum hydrocarbons analysis did not resemble the diesel standard in
two samples. ERM qualified the affected samples as tentatively identified _
and estimated (NJ) as shown in Table 3. J
OVERALL ASSESSMENT
No data required rejection. All of the data, including qualified data, can
be used for decision-making purposes; however, the limitations indicated
by the appliedqualifiers should be considered when using the data. The _
quality of the data generated during this investigation is acceptable for the
preparation of technically defensible documents. `-
J
