Monitoring Well and Sparge Point Installation Report—Former Unocal Service Station#0187 <br /> July 15,2002 <br /> WASTE DISPOSAL <br /> Soil cuttings generated during drilling activities were stockpiled on-site, and were placed on and covered <br /> with plastic Composite disposal confirmation sample SP-1,2,3,4 was collected from the stockpiled soil <br /> cuttings (Table 1) Stockpile sampling procedures are presented in Appendix A On April 26, 2002, <br /> approximately 13 5 cubic yards of soil cuttings were removed from the site by Manley and Sons Trucking <br /> Inc and transported to Forward Landfill in Manteca, California, for disposal A copy of the disposal <br /> confirmation form is included in Appendix B <br /> OZONE MICROSPARGE SYSTEM <br /> In order to connect the newly installed off-site microsparge wells to the on-site system, subsurface utility <br /> conduits were installed During the week of March 18 through 22, 2002, under City of Stockton <br /> encroachment permit ##66489 (Appendix B), GR installed a 4-inch diameter PVC conduit beneath the <br /> sidewalk on the east side of California Street, connected to each of the microsparge wells On April 18, <br /> 2002, under the same encroachment permit, Redline Directional, Inc (license #769270), using horizontal <br /> boring technology,-installed a 4-inch diameter P_VC_conduit from the site to the microsparge wells across <br /> California Street GR installed a second ozone generating panel on-site, and connected the newly <br /> installed microsparge wells to the system The new system was placed into service on April 26, 2002 <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> The newly installed groundwater monitoring well will be added to the ongoing quarterly monitoring <br /> program for the subject site During the first six months of operation of the new ozone microsparge <br /> system, groundwater samples will be collected monthly from nearby monitoring wells to assess the <br /> effectiveness of the system Following six months of operation, GR will prepare a status report on the <br /> effectiveness of the ozone remedial system This report should be submitted to Unocal and the SJCPHS- <br /> EHD during the first quarter of 2003 <br /> 240042 11-1 6 <br />
