ENSR AECONI
1 .0 Introduction and context
This Conceptual Site Model (CSM) Report has been developed for the former Unocal Station No.0187 site
(the site) located at 437 East Miner Avenue in Stockton, California. This CSM Report is being submitted to
provide a framework for planning and executing ongoing investigation and remedial activities at the site.
Ongoing site activities are being documented in quarterly groundwater monitoring and ozone microsparge
system status reports.
The objective of this CSM Report is to synthesize available site data into a conceptual site model sufficient to:
• identify outstanding data gaps;
• plan relevant investigation activities to meet those data gaps;
• screen remedial action alternatives to assess whether currently operational remedial activities will
adequately protect human health, safety and the environment and will restore or protect current or
potential beneficial uses of water or whether expanded or alternative remedial actions may be
preferred.
This CSM Report includes the following elements:
• a summary of the site conditions and the extent of residual contamination;
• identification of potentially applicable cleanup levels for groundwater and soils;
se • identification of relevant data gaps;
• a plan of additional investigation activities necessary to address those data gaps;
• an evaluation of the effectiveness of the existing ozone microsparging system; and
• a preliminary screening of additional remedial alternatives applicable to site conditions that have the
potential to achieve applicable cleanup levels.
i6
J:1Rem_EngWroject Files1P60(6000-
6999)16940-UNOCAL Portfolio Closure16940- 1-1 January2006
UNOCAL Portfolio Closure%Site 0167-Stockton
East Minor%CSM Report\CSM Report_Final.doc
