ARCADIS GERAGHTY&MILLER
Concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in shallow groundwater have declined
significantly over the 5-year period of the monitoring record An examination of monitoring
' data shows that the groundwater plume front is stable, possibly reduced in area extent, and has
not substantially moved Multiple lines of biogeochemical data (including dissolved oxygen,
nitrates, iron (Il), sulfates, and dissolved methane data) indicate that the shallow groundwater
' plume is undergoing microbial mediated biodegradation The site is self-remednatmg through
' the mechanisms of natural attenuation and intrinsic biodegradation, notwithstanding the poor
water quality that emsts at the Site irrespective of the petroleum hydrocarbon impacts
The data collected, analyzed, and evaluated in this project indicate that the Site has
' been adequately characterized It is further concluded that sufficient information and data now
exist with the respect to the Site upon which to base the formulation of a Corrective Action
Plan
V11
