Project No. 034-17016
Page No. 5
will be labeled and identified on a chain of custody form and transferred to a State-approved
analytical laboratory under chain-of-custody protocol.
13. COCs investigated during the course of this assessment and their respective analytical methods
will include the following:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons—carbon chain(TPH-cc)by EPA Method 8015C;
• TPH-diesel (TPH-d)by EPA Method 8015;
• Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)including fuel oxygenates by EPA Method 826013;
• CAM 17 Metals by EPA Method 601013/7471 A;
• Polychlorinated Biphenyls(PCBs)by EPA Method 8082;and
• VOCs for soil vapor by EPA Method TO-15.
14. Soil vapor wells will be sampled using field procedures consistent with the Advisory — Active
Soil Gas Investigations published in April 2012 by the DTSC and the Los Angeles and San
Francisco Regional Water Quality Control Boards. 1,1-difluoroethane (DFA) will be used as the
leak detection compound.
15. Soil cuttings or investigation derived waste (IDW) will be placed in drums with temporary
storage on-site. One (1) composite soil sample of the IDW will be collected and submitted for
laboratory analysis for TPH-cc, VOCs and CAM 17 metals. Krazan can assist in the disposal of
the IDW, however, costs for handling and disposal of IDW are not included in this Revised
Change Order No.2R.
InvestiL,ation of Client-Directed AOCs
L ON-SITE FUELING SYSTEM/USTS/DISPENSERS — USTS, FUEL DISPNESERS AND
PRODUCT LINES
20.000-GALLON DIESEL USTS
• Four (4) soil borings will be completed to a depth of 20 to 30 feet bgs (depending on depth to
groundwater), one (1) boring at each end of the location of the two (2) 20,000-gallon USTS
reported to be currently occupying the subject site.
• Soil samples will be collected beginning at five (5) feet bgs and at five (5) foot intervals to the
maximum depth of the borings. A total of 24 soil samples will be collected from the USTS area
and field screened with the PID.
• Based upon the results of field screening, the two (2) soil samples from each boring
demonstrating the highest potential for contamination will be submitted to the laboratory for
analysis. If no samples from a boring demonstrate the potential for contamination, the samples
from 15 and 25 feet bgs from that boring will be submitted for analysis. If groundwater is
encountered, the deeper sample will be collected as close as practical to the capillary fringe. The
remaining samples will be kept on hold at the laboratory.
• A total of eight(8) soil samples from the USTS area will be submitted for analysis of TPH-d and
VOCs.
• Two (2) grab groundwater samples will be collected from two (2) of the soil borings completed
near the USTS. The groundwater samples will be analyzed for TPH-d and VOCs.
• One (1) soil vapor boring will be completed to a depth of 5.5 feet bgs near the USTS and one (1)
soil vapor sample will be collected and analyzed for VOCs.
550-GALLON NEW OIL UST
• One(1) soil boring will be completed to a depth of approximately 12 feet bgs near the 550-gallon
new oil UST.
KRAZAN&ASSOCIATES,INC.
With Offices Serving the Western United States
034-17016 WP for LSA SSI La bmp FINAL.dw
