25 February 2002
AGE-NC Project No 00-0764
Analytical results for the grab ground water samples analyzed are summarized in Tables 3 and 4 The
laboratory reports (MAI Laboratory ID 82011 to 82015), quality assurance and quality control
(QA/QC)reports and chain-of-custody forms are Included in Appendix C
5.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
I
The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation
• Ground water at the site was encountered at approximately 27 feet bsg in a local ground
water monitoring well in the City of Stockton right-of-way The water table was encountered
at 30 feet bsg in the soil borings The prevailing ground water flow direction in this area is
1 generally toward the east and somewhat northeast
• The most Intensely hydrocarbon-Impacted soil was encountered in the area of the former
USTs The highest hydrocarbon concentrations were encountered at depths of 10 to 20 feet
bsg Soil contaminated with petroleum-hydrocarbons extended to depths of 30 feet bsg
Contaminates were generally not detected analyzed soil samples from 40 feet bsg or below
• The highest concentration of dissolved hydrocarbons quantified as TPH-g,TPH-d and overall
BTEX compounds were present in the former UST area Hydrocarbons were encountered in
the presumed down-gradient direction(generally east)from the UST to the location of grab
' water sample B4
• Dissolved TPH-g and BTEX concentrations in ground water decreased eastward from the
area of the UST release
• AGE estimates the lateral extent of the dissolved phase plumes as shown in Figures 3, 4
and 5
6.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results of this investigation, AGE recommends
• Preparation of a work plan to install ground water monitoring wells and,
 p
I
' • Preparation of a work plan to assess feasibility of various corrective action alternatives
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
