Ground Water Aquifer Pumping Test Report-Second Quarter 2001
Mel Bokides Petroleum - Manteca Station
t983 Moffat Boulevard, Manteca, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr.Nick Bokides of Mel Bokides Petroleum(MBP),Advanced GeoEnvironmental,
Inc. (AGE) has prepared this ground water aquifer pumping test report conducted at 983 Moffat
Boulevard, Manteca, California. The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1. Site structures and
monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2.
1 "The objective of the work was to obtain general ground water aquifer characteristics and to evaluate
aquifer response to ground water extraction at a constant pumping rate. This report is prepared in
accordance with guidelines established by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board-
Central Valley Division for investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites.
' Background information is summarized in the AGE-prepared Preliminary Investigation and
Evaluation Report December 1998,dated 09 March 1999 and Quarterly Report First Quarter 2000,
dated 07 March 2000. Ground water extraction procedures for the site were outlined in Additional
. ' Site Assessment and Ground Water Extraction Pilot Test Work Plan, dated 31 May 2000, prepared
by AGE and approved by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health
Division (PHS-EHD) by letter dated 16 June 2001.
2.0. GROUND WATER'AQUIFER PUMPING TEST
On 23 May 2001, aground water aquifer pumping test was performed at the site to assess the general
ground water aquifer characteristics and to assess aquifer response to ground water extraction
' utilizing wells EW-1, MW-1 through MW-6 at a constant pumping rate. Table 1 shows completion
details for wells utilized for the pump test. Purged ground water was containerized in an on-site
' 6,500-gallon poly tank (Baker tank).
A four-inch diameter Gnuldfos submersible pump was utilized to evacuate water from the pumping
' well. The pumping rate for the test was determined by measuring-the time required to fill a 5-gallon
bucket from the pumping discharge hose.
2.1. AQUIFER PUMPING TEST
' The static pumping test consisted of extracting ground water from well EW-I at a rate of 5 gpm
utilizing a 4-inch diameter submersible Grundfos Redi-flo pump. Approximately 3,600 gallons of
water were removed from EW-1 during.the our constant rate drawdown test.
Advanced CcoEnviromnental,Inc.
q
