' 09 March 1999
AGE-NC Project-No. 98-0432
3.6. LABORATORY'ANALYSES OF GRAB WATER SAMPLES
Grab water samples were analyzed for:
' TPH-d in accordance"with EPA Methods 8015 Modified and
• Volatile aromatic hydrocarbons (BTEX) oxygenated compounds (DIPE, ETBE, MTBE,
TAME and TBA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260 Modified.
4.0. FINDINGS
Descriptions of soil samples encountered in the borings are presented.on the boring dogs included
in Appendix B. The site stratigraphy was inferred from the logged data. The results of the laboratory
analysis were reported to AGE by MAI in reports dated 16 September.1998,22 September 1998 and
' 28 December 1998. The reports are included in Appendix C.
•' 4.1. STRATIGRAPHY
' - Silty sand was encountered from surface grade to approximately 30 feet west and east of the'former
diesel UST, while silty sand and inter-bedded silty clay was encountered south and north of the
former diesel UST from depth to 15 to 30 feet bsg. A clay to clayey silt layer was encountered afthe
base of the former diesel UST area from a depth of 20 to 25 feet bsg. A sand layer was encountered
south of the UST at a depth 20 feet and under the.UST at a depth of 25 feet bsg. The boring, logs are
included as Appendix B. Stratigraphic cross sections are presented in Figures 3. Lines of cross
sections are shown on Figure 2.
4.2. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES
Organic vapor was not detected in any'of the borings advanced at the site.
TPH-d,BTEX compounds and oxygenated fuel additives were not detected in any of the soil boring
' samples analyzed:
Analytical results of soil samples are summarized on Tables 1. The laboratory reports (PET Sample
Nos. PE 3826-03 through 07, PE 3827-01 through 07, and PE 3828-01 through 07) and chain-of-
3 . custody forms are included in Appendix B.
Adranced GeoEnvironmentsl,Inc.
