04 October 2005
• AGE-NC Project No 98-0432
hydrocarbons have not been detected in well MW-6 Monitoring well MW-7 has remained
uncontammatecV,<Nith the exception of a detection of MTBE during the initial ground water
sampling in December 2002 after well installation
• No petroleum hydrocarbon constituents were detected in any of the ground water monitoring
wells during the last four monitoring events, conducted from October 2004 to July 2005,with
the exception of low detections of TPH-g, ethylbenzene, and xylenes in well MW-8 in
April 2005
• Ground water monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2 have historically been the most impacted
at the site, laboratory analysis has reported TPH-g,TPH-d,and MTBE as high as 1,600 µg/1,
590 µg/1, and 31,000 pg/l, respectively TBA was detected in well MW-1 in May 2000 at a
concentration of 1,500 µg11,ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected in well MW-8 in April
2005 at concentrations off? µg/1 and 3 4g/l, respectively
2,07 /sr 51 i 10,,
• The concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbon contaminants in wells MW-1 through MW-8
have declined below detection limits between the initiation of ground water monitoring in
January 2000 and the present
7.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results of this investigation, AGE recommends
• Low-risk site closure as defined in Section 6 5 of Appendix A of the Tri-Regional
Recommendations 1) The contaminant plume is stable and limited to the immediate area of
the former USTs,2)There are no current or anticipated uses of the impaired water at the site
• Destroy monitoring wells in accordance with applicable regulations as part of the site closure
preparations
8.0. LIAUTATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic/
hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited
number of available data points (i e grab ground water samples and soil samples) and subsurface
conditions may vary away from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied,is made
as to the professional interpretations, opinions and recommendations contained in this report
• r
Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc
