1 <br /> • Corrective Action Plan <br /> ' Former MEL BOKIDES PETROLEUM- MANTECA <br /> 983 Moffat Boulevard,Manteca, California <br /> 1.0: INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> At the request of Mr Nick Bokides of Mel Bokides Petroleum(MBP)Advanced GeoEnvironmental, <br /> Inc (AGE), has prepared this Corrective Action Plan (CAP) for 983 Moffat Boulevard, Manteca, <br /> California (site) The scope of the CAP was to evaluate the feasibility and cost aspect of two <br /> comparable remedial action alternatives for methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE)-impacted ground <br /> water at the site <br /> The CAP was prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)for the subsurface investigation of underground storage <br /> ' tank(UST) sites <br /> ' 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located in a business/agncultural area of eastern Manteca, California, in San Joaquin <br /> ' . County (Figure 1) The property currently is being constructed as a gasoline station The site is <br /> located at the intersection of Moffat Boulevard and Cowell Avenue, in an area of low topographic <br /> relief, at an elevation of approximately 48 feet above mean sea level (Manteca Quadrangle, 7 5- <br /> Minute USGS Topographic Series, 1968,photo revised 1976) fy„u7` 4"1-1 �- <br /> e 3e <br /> • MM <br /> 21 REGIONAL GEOLOGICAL/HYDROGEOLOGICAL SETTING <br /> The site is situated within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California, a large, elongate <br /> northwest tending,asymmetric structural trough The Great Valley Province has been filled with thick <br /> sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent,creating a nearly flat lying alluvial plain <br /> ' extending from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the Klamath Mountains in the north The <br /> western and eastern boundaries of this province are comprised of the California Coast Range and the <br /> Sierra Nevada,respectively Rocks composing the basement complex of the province have not been <br />' completely defined but are believed to be of metamorphic and igneous origin The Great Valley <br /> Province has been subdivided into two major divisions identified as the Sacramento and San Joaquin <br /> Valleys <br />' Based on the General Soil Map from the San Joaquin County Soil Survey,published by the United <br /> States Department ofAgriculture Soil Conservation Service in 1992,the site is situated within an area <br /> of Capay clay soil Capay clay is located in mterfan basin or alluvial fan areas,and generally consists <br />' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
