INTRODUCTION PERMIT/SERviG <br /> At the request of Mr Nick Bokides of Mel Bokides Petroleum(MBP),Advanced GeoEnvironmental, <br /> Inc(AGE)has prepared this work plan for intenm remediation at 983 Moffat Boulevard, Manteca, <br /> California (site) The scope of work Includes installation of a dedicated low-flow ground water <br /> "pump-and-treat" interim remediation system at the site The location of the site is Illustrated on <br /> Figure 1 A plan of the site is Illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> On 11 April 2000,the San Joaquin County Public Health Services- Environmental Health Division / <br /> (PHS-EHD)directed by letter to install and continuously operate a pump and treat system in the area <br /> of the highest ground water methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE) contamination (Appendix A) This <br /> Interim remediation work plan has been prepared to address this directive <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located In a business/agricultural area of eastern Manteca, California, in San Joaquin <br /> County (Figure 1) The property currently is being constructed as a gasoline station The site is <br /> located at the Intersection of Moffat Boulevard and Cowell Avenue, in an area of low topographic <br /> relief, at an elevation of approximately 48 feet above mean sea level (Manteca Quadrangle, 7 5- <br /> Minute USGS Topographic Series, 1968,photo revised 1976) <br /> 2 1 UNDER GROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL AND OVER-EXCAVATION <br /> On 10 September 1998, four USTs, including two 3,000-gallon gasoline USTs, one 4,000-gallon <br /> gasoline UST and one 12,000-gallon diesel UST, and two dispenser Islands and associated product <br /> Imes were removed from the site These tanks were in operation at the site for approximately twenty <br /> years The former UST locations are depleted on Figure 2 <br /> During the removal of the USTs and fueling system, approximately 350 cubic yards of soil were <br /> removed from two UST excavations and four dispenser excavations On 15 September 1998, an <br /> additional 100 cubic yards of significantly diesel-Impacted soil was removed from the bottom of the <br /> diesel UST excavation Soil was cxeavated from the diesel UST excavation at the central area of the <br /> site to a depth of 20 feet surface grade(bsg) One grab water sample was collected from the northern <br /> edge of the diesel UST over-excavation The soil left in place was impacted by low to moderate <br /> concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-d) <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> i <br />
