. 12 July 2001
AGE-NC Project No 98-0432
• April 2000-AGE conducted a sensitive receptor survey to locate potential vertical conduits
within a 2,000-foot radius of the site The survey located an agricultural well 1,750 feet
southeast of the site at the Van Ryan Nut processing facility and two adjacent residences
One domestic water well was observed 1,800 southwest of the site on Industrial Park Drive
Additionally, one colnmercial/agncultural well was located down gradient approximately
2,200 feet northwest at a pickling processor Results of the investigation were reported in
Well Survey, dated 20 April 2000,prepared by AGE
11 December 2000- Ground water monitoring wells, MW-5 and MW-6 were Installed on-
site to assess the lateral extent of MTBE-impacted soil and ground water
- 20 December 2000 - Ground water extraction well EW-1 was installed at the site for
performance of a ground water pumping test Soil borings EW-1 was advanced vertically to
depths of 30 feet bsg Boring EW-1 was single-completed as a 6-inch diameter ground water
extraction well with screen intervals between 15 and 30 feet bsg Soil and ground water
samples were not collected during this investigation Results of the December 2000
investigation were reported in Additional Site Assessment Report-December 2000 dated 21
March 2001 prepared by AGE
- 29 March 2001 - Ground water monitoring and sampling were performed at the wells on site
Ground water levels were measured between 13 and 14 feet below the tops of the well
casings, ground water flow direction at the site was inferred to be flowing towards the
northwest at an approximate gradient of 0 003 Laboratory analysis of ground water samples
detected TPH-d at the site at concentrations as high as 190 4g11, BTEX compounds were not
detected, MTBE was detected at concentrations as high as 11,000µg/l Results of the march
2001 investigation were reported in Quarterly Report-First Quarter 2001, dated 20 June
2001,prepared by AGE
23 May 2001 - A ground water aquifer pump test was performed at the site to assess the
general ground water aquifer characteristics and to assess aquifer response to ground water
extraction utilizing wells EW-1, MW-1 through MW-6 at a constant pumping rate of 5
gallons per minute, purged ground water was contamenzed on-site in a 6,500-gallon poly
tank(Baker tank) From data collected during the pumping test, a transmnssivity value was
calculated at 700 ft/day(5,223 gallons per day/ft), a storativity value calculated at 0 047,
a hydraulic conductivity value of 348 ft/day, or 0 123 cm/s and an observed radius of
influence was at 95 feet Results of the May 2001 investigation were reported in Ground
Water Aquifer Pumping Test Report-Second Quarter 2001 dated 18 June 2001, prepared by ,
AGE
i
Advanced CeoEnvironmentai,Inc
