08 January 2004 AGE-NC Project No 95-0103 Page 6 of 8 water extraction system The ground water gradient was approximately 0 0048 ft/ft at the western portion of the site Ground water elevation contours are depicted in Figure 3 3 2 2 Analytical Results of Ground Water Samples t TPH-g was detected in the ground water samples from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-3 and MW-4 at concentrations of 270 µg/l, 1,700 pg/l and 330µg/1,respectively Benzene was not detected in the ground water samples Other BTEX compounds were detected in ground water samples MW-3 and MW-4, toluene was detected in sample MW-3 at a concentration of 3 1 µg11, ethylbenzene was ' detected in samples at concentrations as high as of 11 µg11,and total xylenes were detected In sample MW-3 and MW-4 at a concentrations up to 12 8 gg/l The fuel additives MTBE was detected in the analyzed samples, MTBE was detected in samples MW-1 and MW-4 at concentrations of 2 7 µg/l and 8 9gg/1, respectively No other target analytes were detected in the samples analyzed The analytical results of current and previous monitoring well samples are summarized in Tables 2 and 3 The laboratory report of the current groundwater sampling data(CTEL 0312009),quality assurance and quality control(QA/QC) data and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix E 4.0. SUMMARY/CONCLUSIONS Based on the results of ground water remediation and monitoring activities, AGE concludes the following • Between 19 September'and 15 December 2003, the ground water extraction and treatment system pc ocessed approximately 250,254 gallons of water The total volume of groundwater treated as of 30 September 2003 is approximately 2,700,000 gallons • Dissolved hydrocarbon concentrations detected from ground water samples collected at the Influent end of the treatment system generally declined over the quarter The concentration of benzene detected in the Influent treatment samples was reduced by an average of 70% during the third quarter A monthly monitoring trend analysis is included as Appendix E • Based on the amount of ground water processed and laboratory analytical results, approximately 0 2 lbs of benzene and 6 67 lbs of TPH-g were removed from the extracted ground water(Appendix D) Cumulative totals of 5 89 lbs ofbenzene and 146 7 lbs ofTPH-g , are estimated to have been extracted since ground water treatment began on 02 April 2002 Based on site specific Information, a release of 3,000 gallons of gasoline was documented through Inventory reconciliation This volume of gasoline is approximately 18,750 lbs of TM-g The soil vapor extraction progress on the site removed approximately 397 gallons of gasoline or 2,480 lbs of TPH-g Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc t
