t{ ISEACOR <br /> 0f' Jul- "IS PH 1, 28 <br /> Science&Fngtneenng <br /> Anall,siN Coipoiahon <br /> July 22, 1994 <br /> N0014-001-01 <br /> Mr Russell Chapin <br /> Chapin Brothers, Inc <br /> 1203 North Carlton Avenue <br /> Stockton, California 95203 <br /> Subject Problem Assessment Report Executive Summary <br /> Chapin Brothers, Inc <br /> 1766 Monte Diablo Avenue <br /> Stockton, California 95203 <br /> Dear Mr Chapin <br /> At the request of Mr Russell Chapin of Chapin Brothers Inc , Science & Engineering Analysis <br /> (SEACOR) has prepared this Problem Assessment Report (PAR) for the property (site) located at <br /> 1766 Monte Diablo Avenue in Stockton, California The purpose of the PAR was to provide <br /> information concerning the lateral and vertical extent of subsurface contamination, and to evaluate <br /> the feasibility of proven remedial technologies as possible solutions for the necessary site remediation <br /> work This PAR presents a comprehensive description of the work conducted to date at the site, and <br /> summanzes the data and results of our findings Following your review and approval, SEACOR will <br /> submit one copy of this report to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) <br /> of Public Health Services and one copy to the Central Valley Region of the Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board <br /> Environmental work conducted at the site by SEACOR was presented in a site contamination <br /> workplan to SJCEHD and approved prior to commencing work Field operations included installing <br /> three groundwater monitor wells, developing and sampling those wells, installing a vapor extraction <br /> well, completing eight exploratory borings including soil and groundwater sampling and laboratory <br /> analysis for the purpose of delineating the extent of contamination, and performing a groundwater <br /> aquifer pump test and soil vapor extraction pilot test for a remedial feasibility study <br /> The results of our field operations indicated that soil and groundwater is contaminated with total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons in the range of gasoline beneath the site and offsite mainly to the west and <br /> .
