' Quarterly Monitoring Report July 12, 1996 <br /> Chapin Brothers Automobile Repair Facility Stockton, California <br /> pump test were also completed as part of SEACOR's investigation Based on the results of these <br /> tests, SEACOR recommended vapor extraction be used to mitigate site contamination <br /> Geologic Audit Services (GAS) drilled five additional soil borings and constructed one <br /> tdually completed 4-in vapor extraction well / 2-in air sparging observation well, one 2-in air <br /> sparging observation well, one dually-completed 2-in air sparging/2-in vapor extraction well, <br /> one 4-in vapor extraction well, and one air sparging well GAS subsequently performed an air <br /> sparging/vapor extraction feasibility test GAS presented a radius of influence of 37 ft based on <br /> the results of the test <br /> In February, 1996, Lush Geosciences was retained to implement remediation of site <br /> contamination utilizing vapor extraction/air sparging, construct an additional groundwater <br /> monitor well on property southwest of the site, and resume quarterly monitoring of all of the <br /> groundwater monitor wells Two additional vapor extraction/observation wells have been <br /> constructed onsite and one additional monitoring well was constructed offsite to the west of the <br /> 1 site Design, permitting, and installation of the vapor extraction system is in progress <br /> 2.0 SAMPLING PROTOCOL <br /> Lush Geosciences conducted a quarterly monitoring event on June 26, 1996 The work <br /> consisted of <br /> ' 1 Measuring the depth to water and checking for the presence of free product in each of the <br /> wells (no free product was encountered), <br /> ' 2 Purging groundwater from the wells and collecting and analyzing groundwater samples <br /> from each of the monitoring wells, <br /> I3 Preparing a groundwater potentiometric surface map indicating the direction of <br /> groundwater flow at the time of sampling, and <br /> 4 Preparing this report <br /> ' The following sections summarize field methods used in association with the collection <br /> of groundwater samples at the site <br /> ' 530-001 - 2 - <br /> LUSH GEOSCl1✓NCES <br />
