' Quarterly Monitoring Report July 12, 1996
Chapin Brothers Automobile Repair facility Stockton, California
All of the volatile constituents were detected at very low concentrations in MW2 located north of
rthe site During the previous sampling event in March, 1996, only xylenes were detected at a
trace concentration in MW2 This recent occurrence of petroleum hydrocarbons in MW2 may
suggest that the contaminant plume is beginning to migrate offsite to the north, or that the
groundwater level rise to highest recorded elevations to date resulted in increased contaminant
concentrations Gasoline was detected in MW3 and MW5, located on properties west of the site,
at concentrations of 3 1 and 0 56 respectively with low concentrations of the volatile
1 constituents
Currently, permitting, design, and construction of a remediation system utilizing vapor
extraction/air sparging is in progress In the interim, we recommend continued quarterly
monitoring of the groundwater as required by San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board guidelines
I
r
530-001 - 5 -
LUSH Gi=OSCI>rNCES
