LUSH <br /> GEOSCIENCES <br /> GEOLOGICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES <br /> June 21, 1996 <br /> ' 530-001 <br /> Mr Russell Chapin <br /> 1203 North Carlton Ave <br /> Stockton, CA 95203 <br /> tSubject Executive Summary of Interim Report <br /> Underground Storage Tank Site Investigation <br /> Chapin Brothers Automotive <br /> 1766 Monte Diablo Ave, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Chapin <br /> i <br /> Lush Geosciences is pleased to present the attached report describing a subsurface <br /> environmental investigation performed at the Chapin Brothers Automotive site The site is <br /> located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Buena Vista and Monte Diablo Avenues in <br /> Stockton, California <br /> The report summarizes previous work performed at this site, describes methods and <br /> procedures used during of drilling 3 soil borings, installing two 4-m diameter vapor extraction <br /> wells and one 2-in diameter groundwater monitoring well in the bonngs, and collecting soil and <br /> groundwater samples for laboratory analysis The vapor well locations were selected in <br /> accordance with an approved remedial action plan, while the location of the monitoring well was <br /> selected to delineate the boundary of the contamination plume The report also presents our <br /> conclusions and recommendations based on the data and information generated by the <br /> ' contamination assessment and the previous work performed <br /> The results of analyses of the soil samples collected at the site detected gasoline (TPHg) <br /> and volatile gasoline constituents (BTEX) in two of the borings (LB2, onsite, and LB3, offsite), <br /> most prominently in the water bearing zone and in saturated soil from 15 to 20 ft below the <br /> ground surface <br /> The groundwater surface has been between approximately 17 and 19 ft below grade <br /> during this period of activity Groundwater flow was found to be generally to northwest (N65° <br /> W) with a gradient of 0 0019 ft/ft <br /> 530-001 <br /> 3560 BUSINESS DRIVE, SUITE 120 0 SACRAIMENTO, CA 95820 * (916) 737-9294 e FAX (916) 737-9298 <br />
